Rapid Design Iterations with Monte Carlo Accuracy

چکیده
This chapter explores how to efficiently design circuits accounting for statistical process variation, with target yields of two to three sigma (95–99.86 %). This yield range is appropriate for typical analog, RF, and I/O circuits. This chapter reviews various design flows to handle statistical process variations, and compares these flows in terms of speed and accuracy. It shows how a sigma-driven corner flow has excellent speed and accuracy characteristics. It then describes the key algorithms needed to enable the sigma-driven corner flow, namely sigmadriven corner extraction and confidence-based statistical verification. Some enabling technologies include Monte Carlo, Optimal Spread Sampling, confidence intervals, and 3r corner extraction.

A Monte Carlo-Based Search Strategy for Dimensionality Reduction in Performance Tuning Parameters
Redundant and irrelevant features in high dimensional data increase the complexity in underlying mathematical models. It is necessary to conduct pre-processing steps that search for the most relevant features in order to reduce the dimensionality of the data. This study made use of a meta-heuristic search approach which uses lightweight random simulations to balance between the exploitation of ...
متن کاملA Fast Monte Carlo Scheme for Thermal Radiation in Semiconductor Processing Applications
( ) Thermal radiation is the most effective way for rapid thermal processing RTP and rapid ( ) thermal chemical vapor deposition RTCVD of wafers. It is well known in the semiconductor equipment design community that the Monte Carlo method for radiation is the only method that can accurately model radiative transport in RTP and RTCVD reactors. However, it has often been argued that it is expensi...
متن کاملOn Numerical Solution to the Problem of Criticality
The contribution deals with numerical solution to the problem of criticality for neutron transport equation using the source iteration method. Especially question of convergence of iterations is examined. It is inferred that a slow convergence can be expected if optical thickness of the space region considered is large. For such a case it is next shown that the results may strongly be affected ...
متن کاملResidual Monte Carlo Transport in Time with Consistent Low-Order Acceleration for 1D Thermal Radiative Transfer
We have extended a high-order low-order (HOLO) algorithm for thermal radiative transfer problems to include Monte Carlo (MC) integration of the time variable. Within each discrete time step, fixed-point iterations are performed between a high-order (HO) exponentially-convergent Monte Carlo (ECMC) solver and a low-order (LO) system of equations. The ECMC algorithm integrates the angular intensit...

Introduction: Monte Carlo calculation method is considered to be the most accurate method for dose calculation in radiotherapy. The purpose of this research is comparison between 6 MV Primus LINAC simulation output with commissioning data using EGSnrc and build a Monte Carlo geometry of 6 MV Primus LINAC as realistically as possible. The BEAMnrc and DOSXYZnrc (EGSnrc package) M...
